How does Flackle make money?

Learn how optional paid features support Flackle's free experience and how we approach advertising.

Last updated 11 days ago

We’re building Flackle around a free core experience and an optional paid membership, Flackle Beyond.

Beyond is intended to help fund the service through features such as higher-quality streaming and larger hosted uploads. Those features use more bandwidth or storage, so they create real additional operating costs.

Why are so many features free?

We want the free version of Flackle to be useful on its own. Profile customization and other everyday features should not automatically require a subscription just because people might pay for them.

Some of these features still have costs. We account for them as part of running the service, while reserving some more expensive capabilities for the optional paid membership.

Is the free tier temporary?

Our goal is to build a free tier we can sustain as Flackle grows. We’re bootstrapped and planning around the resources we have. Gradual access, usage limits, and optional paid features are all part of that approach.

Features and limits may change during beta as we learn from real usage. The underlying goal is a useful free experience that we can continue supporting.

Will Flackle have ads?

We do not plan to fill the app with third-party banner ads, sponsored quests, or promotional popups.

We may explore optional paid placements in future discovery or marketplace features, such as a community or theme creator paying for extra visibility. That would be paid promotion, and we would explain how it works before introducing it.

Do you sell user data to fund Flackle?

Selling personal information to advertisers or data brokers is not part of our business model. Our approach is to earn revenue from optional products and features people choose to pay for.
